These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Revrb (also referred to as “Backpack Studio”), including our website, studio, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
The Service is operated by the team behind Revrb. For questions about these Terms, contact us at justin670brown@gmail.com.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country to consent to online services) to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian. You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under applicable law.
3. The Service
Revrb is a browser-based audio and video editing tool. You can upload or import media, apply real-time audio effects, crop clips, save custom presets, export processed files, and—where available—connect a YouTube account to upload videos you create.
Most preview and export processing happens locally in your browser. Some features (such as sign-in, preset sync, YouTube import, or server-assisted export) may require communication with our servers or third-party providers.
4. Accounts
Certain features require an account. You may sign in using supported identity providers (such as Google). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
5. Your content and responsibilities
You retain ownership of media and creative work you upload, import, or create using the Service (“Your Content”). You are solely responsible for Your Content and for ensuring you have all rights, licenses, and permissions needed to use, edit, export, and publish it—including when importing from third-party platforms such as YouTube.
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Upload, import, or distribute content you do not have the right to use;
- Infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, or other intellectual property or personal rights;
- Violate YouTube's Terms of Service or other platform rules when using integrations;
- Upload malware, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with the Service;
- Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes.
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law. We do not routinely review Your Content but reserve the right to do so to operate, secure, or comply with legal obligations.
6. Storage and processing
The Service is designed so that uploaded source files are processed in your browser session and are not permanently stored on our servers as part of normal studio use. Exported files are delivered to you locally (for example, as downloads). If you sign in, we may store account-related data such as saved FX presets and operational logs as described in our Privacy Policy.
YouTube import and upload features may temporarily process media on our infrastructure or through third-party APIs to complete the action you request.
7. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third parties including Supabase (authentication and database), Google (sign-in and YouTube APIs), and browser technologies such as FFmpeg WebAssembly. Your use of those features is also subject to the third parties' terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
8. Intellectual property
We and our licensors own the Service, including its software, design, branding, and documentation, except for Your Content. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal or internal creative purposes in accordance with these Terms.
9. Feedback
If you send suggestions or feedback, you grant us the right to use it without restriction or compensation to improve the Service.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT PREVIEW OUTPUT WILL MATCH EXPORT OUTPUT IN EVERY DETAIL, THAT EXPORTS WILL BE ERROR-FREE, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR SECURE.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) USD $100 OR (B) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (IF ANY).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Revrb and its operators from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
13. Changes
We may update the Service or these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms and revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Jamaica, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory local consumer protection laws apply.
